UK Small Business Web Design
Your business deserves
a website that works
— not a waiting game.
I build professional, mobile-first websites for UK small businesses in 5–7 days, starting from £449. No agencies. No account managers. Just me, Will Farmer, building your site from scratch — fast, affordable, and genuinely good.

How it works —
start to launch
Discovery Call
We spend 15–30 minutes on a call so I can understand your business, your goals, your services, and where you're starting from online. No pressure, no sales pitch. I just need to know enough to build something genuinely useful to you.
Proposal & Deposit
I'll send you a clear, itemised proposal with a fixed price — no hidden extras. Once you're happy and the 50% deposit is paid, we're booked in and the clock starts.
Content Collection
You send me your logo, any photos, and the key information about your services. Don't worry if it's not perfectly polished — I'm used to working with what real businesses actually have, and I'll help you shape it into compelling copy.
Build & Live Review
I build your site and deploy it to a live staging URL — so you're reviewing a real, working website on real hosting, not a static screenshot or PDF mockup. You can click around, check it on your phone, and share it with your team. Feedback is collected and changes are made in real time.
Launch
Once you're happy, the balance is paid, I connect your domain, SSL is enabled automatically, and your site goes live. The whole pipeline — from final approval to going live — takes minutes. I'll hand over everything: login details, domain access, and guidance on what to do next.
Living proof
This website is the demo.
The page you're reading right now was designed, written, built, and deployed using the exact same process and tech stack I'd use for your business. It's version-controlled on GitHub, deployed via Cloudflare Pages with automatic free SSL — and every update goes live in under a minute.
That means when I tell you I can build a fast, polished, mobile-first website in 5–7 days — I'm not describing something I've read about. I'm describing exactly what you're looking at.
- ↗ Clean, hand-written code — no bloated page builders
- ↗ GitHub version control — every change tracked and reversible
- ↗ Cloudflare Pages / Netlify — global CDN, zero-config deployments
- ↗ Automatic SSL — free HTTPS on every site, always
- ↗ Vanilla HTML, CSS & JS — no frameworks, no dependencies, nothing to break

Who you're working with
Not an agency. Not a template.
Just me — and I'm good at this.
I'm Will. I'm 17, Head Boy at Haberdashers' Adams in Shropshire, and I've been building websites for real businesses since I was 13. Not mock-ups. Not coursework. Actual sites, with actual clients, actual deadlines, and actual money on the line.
Most people hear "17-year-old freelancer" and picture someone learning on the job. I'd rather show you the work and let that speak — but here's the honest version of why this makes sense: I have no office overheads, no account managers to pay, and no bad habits to unlearn. What I have is four years of doing one thing properly, a pricing model built on understanding the market rather than guessing at it, and a direct line between you and the person writing your code. That's it. No middlemen. No hand-offs.
I study Economics, Maths, and Politics at A-Level — which matters more than it sounds. Economics taught me how to find and price into a market gap. Maths keeps me precise about what a good deal actually looks like. Politics taught me how to read people and communicate clearly. The pricing you saw on this site wasn't built by accident. Neither was this page.
"Every small business in the UK deserves a website that actually works for them — not just one that exists." That's what I'm building toward, one client at a time.
Common questions
Answers before
you have to ask
How is it really possible to build a website in 5–7 days?
Because I've spent two years doing this — and because I work lean. No office, no account managers, no junior being supervised. I write every line of code myself, and I've built a process that cuts out everything that doesn't need to be there. The result is fast turnarounds without cutting corners on quality. This website is the most honest proof I can offer — it's built exactly the same way I'd build yours.
What if my content isn't ready? I don't have photos or copy written.
That's more common than you'd think, and it's fine. During our discovery call I'll work out what you actually have — even rough notes and a few phone photos can be enough to start. I can write copy for you based on what you tell me about your business (this is included, not an extra), and I'll let you know if there are any gaps that could slow things down. We can always launch with placeholder images and update them later. The point is to get you live and generating leads — we can refine from there.
Do I own my website and domain after launch?
Yes — completely. The code is yours. The domain is registered in your name (or transferred into your name if you already own one). The hosting is on your own Cloudflare or Netlify account, not mine. I hand over everything at launch with clear instructions. There are no ongoing licence fees, no platform lock-in, and no dependency on me staying in business. Your website belongs to you from the moment it's live.
What happens after launch? Do you offer support?
Yes. All projects include a two-week post-launch window where I'll fix any issues that arise at no extra charge. After that, you can sign up for the £29/month maintenance plan, which covers up to 30 minutes of changes per month — useful for things like updating service descriptions, adding new photos, or tweaking the contact form. If you'd rather handle it yourself, the sites I build are straightforward enough that you can edit most content directly in the HTML files — no CMS subscription required. I'll show you how at handover.
What if you get busy — will my project be delayed or deprioritised?
I only take on a limited number of projects at a time specifically to prevent this. When you pay your deposit, you're booking a confirmed slot in my schedule — not joining a queue. I'll be upfront at the proposal stage about when I can start, so you always have a clear delivery date before you commit. If something genuinely unforeseen delays me, I'll tell you immediately — not leave you chasing.
Will my website rank on Google?
All my websites include solid on-page SEO foundations: semantic HTML structure, proper meta titles and descriptions, fast load times, mobile-first design, and correct heading hierarchy. These are the factors Google cares most about. What I can't guarantee is a specific ranking position — no honest web designer can, because Google's algorithm is complex and rankings depend heavily on your competition, location, and content over time. What I can guarantee is that your site will be built to give you the best possible starting point, and that it won't be held back by technical SEO mistakes.
Is the £449 price really all-in? What are the extras?
The prices on this page cover everything I do — design, build, copywriting, SEO setup, and deployment. What I don't control is the cost of your domain name (typically £10–£15/year through a registrar like Namecheap or Cloudflare) and your hosting (Cloudflare Pages and Netlify both have generous free tiers that are more than enough for most small business sites). So your ongoing costs after launch can genuinely be as low as £10–£15/year for the domain. That's it — unless you choose to add the maintenance plan or any add-ons we've discussed.
